Living in a country area, road users are likely to come across all sorts of agricultural machinery, trucks and tractors. These are often towing implements and transporting oversize equipment and produce. In Bundaberg, this is will be all year round.
Be aware that these vehicles will be going slowly, as they are required to by law, and that the driver’s vision to the rear may be reduced by the implement they are towing at the time.
In most cases you will see signs such as these displayed on the vehicle and implement to warn road users.
In recent months there has been a number of traffic crashes involving agricultural machinery resulting in fatalities. This is a sombre reminder of the consequences when machinery and the average motorist interact too closely.
So please take extra care and be patient when sharing the road with these vehicles so that we can all get to our destination safely.
