SCAMwatch and FIFA are warning soccer fans of websites selling fake tickets to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

If you wish to buy tickets you should be aware that:

  • Official tickets can only be brought online via the FIFA website. No other websites are authorised to sell tickets.
  • If you have purchased a ticket online and already received it – it is likely to be a fake as FIFA will not be issuing printed tickets before April 2014.
  • There are no legitimate tickets being sold as part of a travel package.
  • Tickets purchased from unauthorised sources may be fake, invalid or you may not receive them at all. They are also likely to be more expensive than legitimate tickets.
